The highest rx I've seen was about -15, but I'm sure there are higher numbers out there. The strongest farsighted rx I've seen was about +19.25

I have never met anyone more near-sighted than me.
My prescription is -10.50

The medical term is myopia. If you are nearsighted you will know if your spectacle RX has a - power. I am really nearsighted as my spectacle rx is -7 and a -7.25
