When I close my eyes, I can still see a streak of light from yesterday?!
Question: Hello there, I posted this already but it was possibly in the wrong section.
Do you know when you look at a bright light or the sun and then close your eyes, you can see a sort of lighter shape floating around (e.g a circle) which eventually fades (trying my best to explain it.)
Well anyway yesterday I must have looked at a streak of light or something as whenever I close my eyes I see a diagonal line (similar in shape to the country Japan) but it still hasn't gone away despite being more than a day?
Does anyone know why this is? Have I scorched my eye or something? Can anybody help me about this?

Sort of like a blind spot? If it has lasted more than 24 hours, it can't be from looking at a light. I usually get these before i get a really severe migrane or headache. If you don't want to see a doctor, get yourself some rest.
You should go to the eye doctor because it sounds like you may have damaged your eye! a burnt retina
normally i get this when im going to take a migrane
when mine first started it used to move across the eye and take 30 mins to go really wierd then about 6 months into it i started getting a headache after and found out it was migranes
im not sure for the reason of yours go see an optician and rule out a problem with your eye
you should really get that checked, good luck.
If you still have it after 2 days go to an optometrist. If you have anything like watery eyes or pain, go now.
You may have a burnt retina. Wear sunglasses and avoid light. You might want to see an ophthalmologist if it isn't better by Friday at the latest.
Vitamin A deficiency is claimed to be the cause of adaptation of the eye problems. Vit. A is found in carrots and fish liver oil so increasing the intake may help or even a supplement pill
