Can tanning hurt vision?!

Question: I just got out of the bed, and I got in my car to drive home, and my headlights and all the other headlights looked light blue instead of white. I wore the goggles and kept my eyes closed, so what is causing this?? I just saw my ophthalmologist and he said my eyes are perfect.

If your opthamologist said your eyes are fine, I wouldn't worry about it. You are wearing the goggles, so you are protecting your eyes. It may just be some kind of weird temporary effect from being in the tanning bed, then going back outside where it was darker.

That happens to me sometimes too. It's just a funky effect of the UV lights in the tanning bed. It is only temporary - it will go away soon, don't worry about it! :)

UV rays can greatly affect your vision. UV exposure causes cataracts of the eye. Your eyes may be fine now but the more exposure to harmful UV rays the sooner you develop cataracts. Your eyes are important protect them from UV rays with polarized lenses.

Yes tanning is very bad for your vision. One of my dance teachers used to tan all the time and never used goggles. Now you can actaully see that the whites of her eyes have a yellowish tint to them because of this. She also said that she sees halos around lights and can tell her vision is getting worse.

Yes, UVA nd AVB will have sum effect on the eyes, Thats y there are contacts with the UV protection

u have nothing to worry about as long as you continue to wear the googles and keep your eyes close periodiocally through out the tanning session but for your on sake limit your tanning to less as possible
