My daughter's eye exam......Does she needs to wear glasses?!
Question: My daughter is 5 years old now. She had eye exam result
OD:+1.00-1.25x170
OS:+0.75-1.25X180
What does that mean?
Does she needs to wear glasses? or just recommend?
Is that possible the more she grows up she'll gets better?

The first number, "sphere" is very low for a five-year-old. Children are born farsighted and grow out of it. This is nothing to worry about.
The astigmatism probably does cause a bit of reduced acuity, but minor. Most likely irrelevant for your daughter.
For someone older, it would be totally a "preference" thing as to whether or not to wear those glasses. For a 5-year old who doesn't make the purchasing decisions, it's a real toss-up. It would be nice to give her the option of choosing, but by no means is it a "need" or a "must." I wouldn't feel any guilt about waiting another year or so and seeing if the astigmatism prescription holds up or gets worse. If it the astigmatism persists, then I might go ahead and order the glasses. Otherwise, I'd just be watchful for complaints and looking out for any symptoms that she's having trouble seeing.
didn't the eye doctor talk to you about the results? I have worn glasses for 40 plus years and have never had an exam and then just shoved out the door with results in hand but not explained.
Whether she 'gets better' with age depends on what the results mean. could be anything. You need to call or go see this exam person and get more info.
With that prescription , she definately needs glasses.
She has a fairly strong astigmatism correction as well as hyperopia.
It's very doubtful that she will " grow" out of it.
She will probably have problems learning to read and write with that amount of astigmatism , and no glasses.
Did you not believe the Dr. who did the exam, that she needs them ?
In my opinion, she doesn't need to wear them. Farsightedness (the "plus" number) is within normal limits for her age, as is the second number, her "astigmatism." It is VERY LIKELY that her prescription will change with time. I can almost guarantee that her farsightedness will decrease, and her astigmatism will adjust--though it's impossible to tell if that will get better or worse.
In short, your daughter is probably seeing just as well as anyone else in her class, her results are within normal limits for her age, and she doesn't need to wear glasses at this time. I would DEFINITELY recommend a re-exam before school next year to see where she is, followed by annual exams thereafter.

Unless there were other reasons for concern:
One with eye better acuity than the other, complaints of headaches, reluctance to do close or detailed activities...
I would call that as something to watch with 6/12 checks, not to immediately prescribe for...
Unless, in the consulting room, her face "lit up" when I tried the final Rx on her.
Some people notice astigmatic corrections much more than others. It's not just a mathematical rule thing.
She's a bit longsighted with appreciable astigmatism.
Nothing drastic.
Statistically, the longsight will probably disappear as she grows, the astigmatism is less likely to do so,
But there's enough variation for any set of eyes to do almost anything. It's only the averages that are truly reliable.
Provided you arrange regular checks, you haved nothing too much to worry about either way at the moment.
At worst she doesn't NEED glasses at the moment. They would be USEFUL.
I think the word "need" (and an order to wear glasses) tends to be overdone.
Except in rare cases where I'd really mean it: "You need glasses if you're not to be illegal driving."
I'd avoid the term.
