What are some signs of sleep deprivation?!

Question: I usually get 5-6 hours of sleep on weeknights, and a max of 8 on weekends. My eyes are always bloodshot and the corners of my sclera are a tint of light yellow. Is this sleep deprivation?

The bloodshot part could be a lack of sleep but the fact that your eyes are yellow is worrisome. That could be a result of jaundice. I think you should talk to your doctor and get checked out. Your eyes should not be yellowing.

Do a quick search on Web MD for sleep deprivation and fatigue and you'll get the best symptoms list.

Good luck.

I think the average a person is to sleep a night is between 7 and 8 hours. If your only getting 5 to 6 hours during the weekdays, you have to look at why. Going to sleep late? Waking up early? etc. Your eyes might be bloodshot because your not getting enough sleep during the week (some people think you can catch up on sleep by sleeping longer on weekends - no true) But then again there might be different reasons why your eyes are always red, too much tv, wearing contacts too long, smoking *cough cough* :)

sounds like it or your eyes could be bloodshot due to allergies.

Check for bags under your eyes, it looks like an extra skin fold under your eyes.

Also, you should know if you are tired all the time.
Try going to bed earlier.

definitely. u need at least 8 hrs a day
