Does anyone make a clear polarized eyeglass lens?!

Question: i want to know if anyone makes polarized glasses without any tint.

Answers: i want to know if anyone makes polarized glasses without any tint.

OK. Let's talk about the physics of light. Light coming from a point source travels through space in randomly positioned wave fronts with wavelengths of light oscillating in all directions (up and down, back and forth, and all possible oblique angles). Polarized lenses are designed to block only light that is oscillating horizontally or very nearly horizontally. When light bounces off of horizontal surfaces (such as water) much more of the wavelengths begin to travel in a horizontal back and forth manner. Therefore, polarized lenses dramatically decrease glare off of flat surfaces such as water by filtering out these horizontally oscillating waves of light. Any time you block a percentage of light traveling through a lens (it really doesn't matter what direction they are oscillating in) you will see less light through the lens. Therefore, the lens will appear to have a tint. (That's what tints are. They are treatments of a lens to cause absorption or blocking of light). So, since a polarized lens blocks light (mostly horizontal) it unavoidably will result in the lens having a tint. Hope this helped.

The Iodine crystals in the polarized film are aligned in parallel rows like a venetian blind to block light one direction. This is why you cannot have a clear polarizer. If the crystals were clear, they could not do their job blocking light in a specific direction.
