i dont have good eyesite and i want to join flying school
Answers:
You don't need to worry about your eyesight that much so long as it's corrected to 20/20 through lenses (contacts or glasses). You will need to submit to a medical exam from an Aviation Medical Examiner (you can find them by area on www.faa.gov) where you will need to prove corrected vision to 20/20. It's always recommended to submit to a medical before beginning flight training (preferably Class I if you plan on a career) as you will need to meet standards to at least solo.
Also, you receive your Student Pilot Certificate from an AME. you do not need a medical to train - just to solo (required for a license) and fly as Pilot in Command.
Medical Classes:
Class III - Least requirements. Good for 3 years (2 if age is over 40)
Class II - Required to fly and get paid to do it. Good for 1 year.
Class I - Most requirements. Required by most companies and by law to fly airlines. Good for 6 months.
Medicals usually cost about 80 dollars and are not too different from an average annual physical. They include hearing and eyesight tests.
If you choose the flight training route, good luck! It's more than worth it.
