Contacts for 1 week - is this normal?!
Question:
Contacts for 1 week - is this normal?
I have been wearing contacts for one week. Before getting contacts wore glasses for several years. Now that I have contacts my vision is not as clear as it is with my glasses. The doctor mentioned I am borderline for needing special contacts due to a stigmatism. He said to give these a try though. So is my vision not as clear because I need the special contacts? People are telling me the strength is probably wrong, but the doctor seemed to be really good and I trust his diagnosis. What could this mean? I have an appointment with him next week but I wanted to see what you all thought. Thanks!

I have been wearing contacts for a while - and was also recently told I have an astigmatism in one eye. From what I understand is that you can't see as clearly. This is because your eye, instead of being shaped like a sphere, is shaped more like an oval. You need to get special contacts because different areas of your eye need different things. When my doctor gave me the first contacts to wear I hated them. They made me so sick and nausus. This was because they we spinning on my eye. I changed doctors and they gave me a new kind of contact for the astigmatism - And I love them!! They are a little bit bigger then my regular contacts - and they are thicker on one side - this helps to anchor that part lower on the eye.
Just ask to try out different contact brands - they are all made differently. Its also good to see a really good doctor (not just one of those eye stores in the mall - they gave me the wrong prescription before) Goodluck!
