Does eatting carrots really make your eyes stronger?!
Question:
Does eatting carrots really make your eyes stronger?
If I eat carrots everyday will my eyes get stronger and maybe hopefully my glasses don't get any thicker?
Answers:
Carrots contain vitamin A. This vitamin promotes healthy vision, but it won't "cure" your imperfect eyesight.
It is important to have vitamin A in your diet because vitamin A deficiency can cause many problems for your eyes... may even lead to blindness. Also there are other sources of vitamin A such as cod liver oil, sweet potato, mango etc....
" Vitamin A prevents night blindness. If the vitamin A deficiency causing night blindness isn't corrected, it can lead to xerophthalmia, with dryness in the eyes, corneal ulcers and swollen eyelids. Untreated, xerophthalmia can lead to blindness. In fact, vitamin A deficiency is one of the leading causes of blindness in developing countries. Vitamin A has been reported to prevent cataracts from forming and may have a role in preventing blindness from macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in the world."
