LASIK eye surgery Treatment?!
Question:
LASIK eye surgery Treatment?
I have read this article http://www.geoamaan.com/entry/13/61/... about LASIK eye surgery, although its very informative , but I want to know more about it. Can anyone share their personal experience about this?
Answers:
I had the surgery done almost 5 weeks ago. It was a painless procedure, all I felt was some pressure when they were working on my eye. My doctor offered a tranquilizer (Valium) which I refused. The surgery itself took all of 10 minutes.
As soon as the surgery was done, I was able to see. My vision was cloudy, and I was a bit sensitive to sunlight, but it was not bad. I did have a bit of a feeling that something was in my eye, it felt like there was a bit of dust there.
I went home and took a several hour nap. After that I was able to see better (less fog). I did have a halo effect around lights at night, but that is getting less and less with time. I actually was able to drive the night of my surgery (although you are not supposed to)
My vision prior to surgery was very bad. Without corrective lenses, I would have been considered legally blind. The day after surgery I was better than 20/25 in both eyes. A week later, I was 20/20.
You will have some variations in your vision, as your eyes heal. I joked with my eye doctor that on even numbered days my left eye was better, on odd days I could see better out of the right one!
I am now seeing better than I ever have in my life. My only regret is I did not have the surgery earlier. It is the best think I have ever done for myself! (Marrying my wife is a close second.)
As a matter of fact, my wife, who's eyes were not as bad as mine, had the procedure done 2 weeks after I did. She is seeing even better than I am now!!
