I have a sty. What is the quickest way to get rid of it?

Try using a hot compress. Get a heating pad (plastic covered so it won't short out if it gets wet) and get a moist wash rag (moisture transmits heat better) and wrap it around the heating pad. Hold the heating pad over the affected lid area getting it as hot as you can tolerate without burning the skin. Hold it over the lid for ten to 15 minutes. Then take it off and let it cool down for a couple of minutes so you don't get worn out by all the heat. As soon as you can take it again put the heat on the lid again. Do this on and off for a couple of hours while you're watching tv at night. Do this as often as is practical throughout the day.

Why does this work? The heat will dilate the blood vessels in your eye lid. The dilated blood vessels will then deliver more blood to your lid. The increased blood flow will carry with it more of your own body's antibodies which will attack the bacteria causing the stye. Over a couple of days the stye will hopefully come to a point and then drain. Once the stye drains it should resolve. If this doesn't work within a couple of days then the best thing to do is go in and see your eye doctor. Hope this helped.
