What to do about a canker sore?!
Question: What to do about a canker sore?
I've been rinsing with warm salt water, and putting Orajel Maximum Strength for Mouth Sores on it, which helps until it wears off (5-10 minutes later), but it doesn't actually make it go away. It's sooooo painful. It's hard to talk, eat, smile, or pretty much move my mouth at all. What should I do?!
Answers:
What I do, aside from salt water, is to crush up some aspirin with a little bit of water and dab it on with a q-tip. It will sting, but leave it there for about 30 seconds or so. Make sure you don't leave it on for too long, or you'll end up doing more harm than good.
It's the best thing I've found to heal them quickly
I went to the doctor and she prescribed a gel to put on it that has a steroid in it to help the sores heal faster than the over the counter gel. I also switched my toothpaste to a brand that does not contain sulfates because the foaming agent in toothpaste, sodium lauryl sulfate is thought to irritate some people and cause canker sores.
I get canker sores too
try vitamin c.
Put a tums on it.
