How long will it take before my muscles are back to normal and I'm able to start!
Question:
How long will it take before my muscles are back to normal and I'm able to start building muslce again?
Ok...in January I was diagnosed with spondylolysis, which is basically a fracture in my lower back. I've been in a back brace for the past six months and in two weeks I go to see my doctor to see if I can get my brace off. I feel slight discomfort but nothing unbearable like it was months ago. I started physical therapy 1 month ago..they have me doin ab tightenin exercises and stuff. Ok...now if my doctor says I can start exercisin how long do you think it'll take for me to get back into top form...cause its been six months since i played football or basketball and I need to know how long its going to take for me to get back all my speed, hops, and muscle mass....i dont want my junior year to be a flop...so does anyone have an idea?

Sorry to tell ya, but it's probably going to take another 4-6 months to be back to normal...at least. I'm going through the same thing kinda. I just had reconstructive acl surgery on my left knee from an injury that happened 5 months ago. I lost all my muscle mass in my quads and thighs. I have to go to therapy 3 times a week for the next month. Every day I look at my leg to see if I'm getting the muscle back. It will not happen over night. Just stick to the program your therapist gives you. Don't over-do it, but push yourself at the same time. You don't want to over-do it and reinjure anything.
Are you doing any core exercises yet? That will help a lot too.
