Have you ever been on fire?!
Question: Have you ever been on fire?
Answers:
You are a very lucky or blessed young lady that your skin was not burned. I was a correctional sergeant in a rough prison, and an mentally unstable inmate wrapped himself in a foam mattress and set himself on fire, I was the first on the scene and the cell was engulfed in flames, so I ordered my guards to make a chain by holding each others hands and I went into the cell and as I was attempting to grab the inmate, since I could not see him, I was pulling the skin off of his body. He lived in severe pain for 8 months then finally expired from his burns, and I received burns on my hands, arms an suffered from smoke inhalation and the burns were painful for days, luckily the skin grew back and I didn't have any permanent scars
Certified paramedic, disabled prison sergeant.
Like you, I almost did so when there was a car accident off I-52 to Sageville in Dubuque.
We had to pull out several people from the car which was on fire and I almost got burnt.
Thank God we got them all out before the fire consumed the car.
We were the talk of the town of Sageville the next day.
Frequently, I work as a Firefighter (relief) for WSFS in the UK.
