Back pain?!

Question:

Back pain?

I'm 24 years old and I was having some minor back pain off and on for the past few years, mostly mid back, sometimes lower back, depending on whatever activity it was that I was doing. I saw a chiropractor for an adjustment. She took x-rays and found that my hips and tailbone were slightly rotated outward, probably caused by a past injury and a lifetime of poor posture. She thinks this and a weak muscle balance in my back were the root of the back pain.

I've seen her twice a week for a couple of months now, where she uses a "micro adjuster" to push my tailbone back into place. I've also done daily exercises, stretching and used back support for driving. But my back is actually beginning to hurt worse now! The pain is almost daily. She thinks that since the lower back is straightening out to where it should be, its pulling the rest of the back back in line, something like that. And that the pain is normal and should recede as everything lines up and I get used to it. Sound right?

The pain usually starts the exact second I start to slouch forward while sitting. I try to sit upright, but its hard to being in front of a desk for a good portion of the day.

Answers:

yep, sounds right, I worked for a chiropractor for 5 years. They way it was explained to me is... our spines are so out of whack that when the adjustments start ( which is why it is more than 1 or 2) our "uncomfortable comfort " is now painful because it is finally being adjusted to the proper place. Stick with it, ask Dr. about hot or cold packs, massages help the muscle surrounding the area by stimulating the oxygen and blood, try that too.
good luck sounds like your on the road to healthy healing!!
