Smashed finger at work, how long will it take the blood to disappear?
I filled out report, the blood is trapped on the underside of my finger.it's swollen ,but i think most of the swelling is due to the blood having no where to go -like if it were cut.it's not blue,but slightly discolored from the blood inside.it's my middle finger which got smashed above the first section where it bends.and i can bend it so it's not broken.it's hard because the skin's so tight.and on top where it took the hit,is sore. I hope they don't want me to go and have a needle stuck in it. Someone at work told me to keeping putting it in ice,so for the rest of the work day i did off and on. but , "jeepers" that made it really start throbbing bad.won't my body asborb the blood?

When I was much younger, I chased my sister around the house. When she is about to shut herself into a bathroom, I was silly enough to jab my fingers into the hinge hoping to wedge the door open. Got my finger crunched. Blood accumulated under my fingernail.
It went away after 5 weeks.
