Tell the nurse giving you the shots about your fear, and to please make it quick. Don't look at what she is doing when she is preparing the shots or when she is giving them to you. Look away, take deep breaths, and think of something entirely different.
Everybody has to do things that they don't like and getting shots is definitely one of them. I never met a person who enjoyed them. With shots, the needle stick only hurts for an instant. Depending on what kind of med is being injected there may be soreness afterwards tho. The best way to take care of that is MOVE the arm and take Tylenol if necessary.
