How painful is a ripped ACL?!

I tore my ACL during a soccer game. It hurt so much that I fell to the ground, was ripping grass up and trying not to panic. It hurts A LOT, but its a pain that is hard to describe....not really like anything else I've ever felt. The thing about it though is that if you tear the ACL completely, it only hurts at the beginning, and then your ACL will disintegrate after a few hours because your body realizes it can't be used anymore. If you have lasting pain it means you did damage to other parts in addition to the ACL. For example, I also tore cartilage. After all of the pain goes away it just feels like something is missing or disconnected.

You hear this sound and then pain runs in to you. The people that cry are probably kids/(sorry but) really whiny. My mom was 51 and had it. She didn't cry but she moaned because of the pain sometimes. When she broke it she did fall to the ground but didn't cry.
