Have you ever had a ureteroscopy done to remove a kidney stone?!

Question: Have you ever had a ureteroscopy done to remove a kidney stone?
My boyfriend just had the procedure done today..
And he's only 25.. and it says if you start getting kidney stones in your mid twenties, instead of older, that you may be more prone to getting more stones.

Has anyone had this procedure done, and is there any last side effects months/years afterwards (lingering pain etc?)

Answers:

My stones started when I turned 40. And have kept coming.

There aren't any long term effects. Short term, it's hurts like &^(^$ if they left a stent in the ureter. For me, worse than the stone. To be honest, if he's got a stent, he likely won't be interested in sex until it's out.

The best prevention, as one urologist told me, is to drink water & other fluids until you pee clear.
