I'm getting a tentanus shot tomorrow, what should I expect?!

Question:

I'm getting a tentanus shot tomorrow, what should I expect?

I've heard on multiple accounts that after you get a tetanus shot it makes your arm sore for a couple of days. I'm not so afraid of the needle, just scared about the aftermath. So, can anyone clarify what the intensity of the pain or soreness will be after you get the shot on a scale of 1 to 10?

Answers:

Pain. Oh the searing, agonizing pain.

Ok, so, it's not all THAT bad.

It stings a little when the medicine is going in -- and then for the next couple days you may have a bruise ( I don't bruise easily, and I get one, every time). It won't be agonizing pain, but it'll feel like somebody punched you in the arm pretty good.

I'd say on a scale of 1 -10 with 1 being . . . "Oh lah de dah, it's a beautiful day in the park" and 10 being "Oh dear God, please increase the dosage on this morphine pump before I have to bust it apart and drink the medicine" it'll be somewhere around a 3 or 4.
