What does this mean??!

Question:

What does this mean??

I'm going to set an appointment, but what do you think?

Everyday for the last 3 months by legs hurt really bad like cramps, and they fall asleep really easy. They even hurt when I lay down. I'm no doctor but I feel like it could be restless legs or bad circulation, if it's bad circulation could that hurt me or cause problems?

Answers:

Hi there...so leg cramps in itself does sound like restless leg syndrome. It is worse at night, mostly isolated to the calfs and feels like a "tingly-creepy crawling feeling" that gets better with moving the legs or massaging the calfs. You may also have cramping. It is inherited so you may ask your mom or dad if they have similar symptoms. It is under diagnosed, so they may not have been diagnosed. Mirapex is a good medication if you do indeed have RLS. Requip is the newest one. They are both hard on the liver, but work well. You can take Milk Thistle tabs to help your liver while you take them.

If your legs fall asleep, that makes me think of spinal stenosis where the spinal canal narrows and it is worse after standing. Laying down usually makes it feel better. So, if it doesn't that sounds like it could be a herniated disc.

You could also have peripheral vascular disease which is plaque build up in your arteries which would make you have bad circulation, and you would notice it most after exerting yourself. Again, mostly isolated to the calves.

I would make an appointment for sure, but these are just some thoughts. Good luck to you. :)
