To all Paramedics Only Please?
For what you get paid and the work involved and also the schooling involved, do you feel it was worth it and also would you recommend it to someone contiplating doing the same?
Answers:
As a Paramedic I have to say that it was definitely worth it, not as much for the pay, or hours. I base this on that one life that you may, and eventually will, save. Being the one to take the knowledge that you acquired and put it into action, and see a human being survive due to it is the best feeling ever.
As for recommending it I say this:
Paramedicine is not for everyone and does take a special breed of person. It is usually a thankless job that requires long hours of training, working in some of the worst conditions, sometimes for little pay. It is physically, socially, and emotionally demanding, as well as being highly stressful. It is however very rewarding at times, and can be a wonderful career choice. Most Paramedics do not regret their career choice, but there is always some who do. So that is my thoughts on being a Paramedic.
