I play competitive soccer and have pulled my groin many times in the past few years.
You need to REST for a few weeks. If you do not rest it will not heal, (I have learned the hard way).
A groin is a very sensitive area and is used for almost everything is soccer. Rest for a few weeks, go see a doctor. He/She will tell you more.
Also, a light warm up and stretching is needed before playing to keep away from injuries. The older you are the more important stretching and a good warm up is. Try a light jog, then stretch all your leg muscles out.
If you don't know any good stretches, you need to ask your doctor when you see one or look up some on google.

P.S Do not play with the injury, that is very, very important! Use the R.I.C.E method if you do not want to see a doctor or cannot.
