Measuring devices (gauges) do not usually hurt at all, unless you're struck with one.
Wire/needle widths (gauges) and sheet metal/plastic thicknesses (gauges) also do not hurt unless applied with force.
Film widths (gauges) also do not hurt unless the film insults you, which can hurt your feelings.
The widths of shotgun barrels (gauges) do not themselves hurt, but what comes out of them can be fatal. It should be noted that a higher gauge number denotes a smaller barrel. From this perspective, one could argue that MORE gauges hurt LESS, so they anti-hurt.
The widths between rails on a railway (gauges) don't hurt, but if a train is coming then a smaller-gauge train may be easier to dodge.
Stitch densities in knitting (gauges) also don't hurt, unless you are extremely bad and careless when it comes to knitting.

They don't hurt at all unless your sizing up. When you size up, it makes all your blood rush to you ear and it gets warm and throbs. It doesn't last for too long.

Experience

Depends on your pain tolerance.
Theyl hurt less if you wait a month or 2 before you stretch again.
if you give your ears time before you stretch, it like, stings and burns a little.

i had them a while ago but once you get tired of them they leave your ears ****** up so dont go big but they hurt a little bit
