How do you stop the burning sensation after a tonsillectomy?!

Question: How do you stop the burning sensation after a tonsillectomy?
I'm on day 8 of recovery after having my tonsils taken out, and a new pain has started... It's an excruciatingly painful burning sensation when I swallow anything from cold water to warm soup. I've been experiencing it on only one side of my throat as well as on the back of my tongue and roof of mouth. I've searched online and it seems to me a common occurrence but no one seems to have found a way of fixing or avoiding it. Does anyone know any foods or liquids that may not cause this problem or how to put a stop to it all together? Thanks in advance!

its just how the recovery goes. there's going to be a lot of pain.
once the scabs fall off usually between day 8-12 (typically closer to 8 days) the pain will go away almost immediately.
just keep doing what you're doing and deal with it.

i'm 24 and i had my tonsils out in 2009.
