If you keep poking a bruise will it go away?!

Question: If you keep poking a bruise will it go away?
Yesterday, I fell then got a gigantic bruise on my elbow. My friend told me if you have a bruise and you keep poking it, it will go away is that true?

Not too much. A friend taught me to ice a bruise for 3 minutes and then rub it until it is warmed up again. Do it about every twenty minutes or so as often as you can. It will clear up faster that way. It really works. I had two bruises from IV's in the hospital and only did it with one arm to see the difference. It went away faster on that arm then the other.

Personal experience

Your friend is laughing at you right now if you are doing that. Pushing on bruises can break up the blood inside and create a blood clot that can go to your heart and cause internal problems (DO NOT mess with it)!

Yes, because hitting an injury you got from hitting yourself will make it go away. Common knowledge.

Your friend is stupid.

It will go away by itself. Poking it will not speed up the process.

Yes. You have to poke it hard enough though.
