Question: My daughter straddled a fence?

It was a pretty low fence and she was trying to jump over it, but she accidentally straddled it and now she is in a lot of pain from her vulva. There is no bleeding, but it does look slightly swollen. She is too embarrassed to go to a doctor, but should I bring her anyway? She is 5, by the way.

She is 5 yrs old and you take her to the doctor to show her that people hurt themselves on all places of their body and doctors aren't going to think her injury is silly. You are the mom and you want to make sure she is ok. Why would you not take her to a doctor?

My cousin did something similar, the best thing to do i keep calm, take some anti-inflamitory or paracetamol. if she is still in lots of pain tomorrow i'd take her to the doctors. Poor girly. :(

She is probably just bruised, painkillers, ice, and privacy will probably do the trick.

If she is not too embarrassed to show you, she should be too embarrassed to show the doctor. Tell her he can make it better!

give it time, it will probably resolve naturally very soon.

Take her to A & E urgently. This is no time to be embarrassed.
