I know a bath might seem a bit gross, but I've found what really helps me is to run a really hot one and just sit in it - the relief is crazy!! Tampons can help to ease the ickiness in this situation!.
Alternatively, hot water bottle, find a comfy position (preferably in front of the TV!.!.!.) and wait it out!.
You could get some!.!.!.whats it called!.!.!. Feminax!? I think that's what its called!.
Hope you feel better soon

A hot water bottle really does work wonders!. I personally find exercise helps!. In particular, swimming and running!.

If this is happening every month, you could see if your Dr will prescribe you with Mefenamic acid; this is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug which is sometimes very good for period pain!. This can cause gastrio-intestinal upset though!.

You could also try Feminax ULTRA; it contains naproxen (another NSAID) It works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, which in turn reduce the contractions of the uterus!. This drug also causes less gastrio-intestinal disturbances which are common in NSAID's!. Another option would be seeing if your GP will prescribe an Antispasmodic drug!. This sometimes helps with cramps!.

There is nothing you can do or take which will alter the blood flow!. If it's really bad then perhaps you can have a chat with your GP and the pill might be considered!. This may help even things out!.

If everything fails, and the pill is not an option (if you're a teenager and your cycle is not fully established, you should try and avoid the pill if possible) then progesterone norithisterone might be the way to go!. If things are really bad, and this is a regular occurrence, have a chat with your GP!. Don't suffer in silence!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have this problem too and it sucks! Mine last for 7-9 days and are very heavy for the first 5-6 days! I have found that you can not always carry a hot water bottle or heating pad around with you, so I use the ThermaCare Heat pads!. They heat up once you take them out of the package and they have a sticky side that you can attach to your underwear!. These are great! You can wear it for 8 hours at a time and they do not show under your clothes so you can wear them while you are out running around!. I also use an OTC med called Percogesic!. You can get it at large chain pharmacies and this really helps too!. It may make you a little sleepy, but it definitely helps to relive the pain!. Other than that, go see your PCP or your OB/GYN about getting on the pill because it usually helps make your periods lighter and shorter!. I used to take Seasonale, which is the 3 month birth control!. You only get your period 4 times per year, is perfectly safe, and when I got them, they only lasted about 3 days!Www@Answer-Health@Com

when i started mine i used to do gymnastics but now i dont do any sport so it hurts like crazy!

i cant give you much advice now other than painrelief and hot water bottle but for nxt month!.!.!.!.

the day before your due on, take 2 painkillers in the morn, lunch time and evening!. and the nxt day when you do come on you wont be in pain :) it kinda numbs it! i do this and i dont suffer anymore!. also if you get the chance, a wk before your due on go swimming it will help relax your muscles!.
i always find tampons make you feel better too coz u dont feel messy, and i think it helps reduce the pain too!. but watch you dont forget ur on ur period when your wearing a tampon tho!Www@Answer-Health@Com

had the same problem!. thankfully i grew out of it!. but this is what i did!. i take motrin or advil 1 day before the onset and the day of my period!. i also massage my foot, the nerves that enervate your abdomen share the same tract and it helps believe me!. if you start birth control pills it will help with your flow and pain!. good luck!. i used to curl up into a ball and cry for hours!.
