*Fractured Hand Mishaps*?!

Question: *Fractured Hand Mishaps*!?
I fractured my metacarpal bone (the 5th one I believe) about 3 to 4 months ago!. This was the result of a drunken night when me and my friend were randomly hitting brick walls (stupid I know, but 13 shots will do that)!. I woke up and my hand was just swollen and I couldn't even tear a piece of paper it was so bad!. I decided not to go get help cause I knew it would heal!. Well about 6 weeks later, I was able to use my hand again!.!.but it still had minor discomfort!. I went to the ER and they said it would be fine!.!.in fact they told me the fracture was already starting to fill in with calcium!. Well its been about 2 months and my hand is fully functional!. There is however, a slight problem!. I am scheduled to leave for Air Force basic training on the 14th of this month!. And that is fine!.!.I can do push ups and everything!.!.!.but if i twist my hand the wrong way, it hurts like a B****!. The Air Force doctor told me I was ok to go too boot camp, but all I wanna know is will the discomfort ever go away!? I have been taking calcium pills!.!.wth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I punched a bus last January when it turned into me and it ran over my dog who I was walking!. My dog ducked under the bus and took off to a nearby park!.

Anyhow, I had a broken fourth and fifth medicarpal!.

It healed, but now it sometimes hurts a little bit when I move it in certain ways!. What happened is that because of how the joint healed, I have post traumatic arthritis!.

I'm not a doctor, but it sounds pretty much the same as what you describe!. I can do pushups fine, but sometimes it bothers me when I use a knife for awhile!.

My doctor said that they could fuse the fifth medicarpal to the carpal and that would mean very little loss of motion, but would mean no more arthritic pain!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
