If your having total insomnia then i advise to go to your doctor, if its broken sleep due to pain or just general slep distruption then you could try the following
Change your pain medication at night time a lot fo doctors will do that to aid sleep i suffer from extreme arthritic pain and i'm only 29 years old and i take quinine tablets at night to help they work brillliantly i do not take sleeping meds as it is commonley known there highly addictive
a good warm bath with some lavander oil or some jonhnsons baby lavander bath its ment to help abbys sleep byut its awesome for adults lol
warm milk or something like ovaltine malt drinks really actually do work or camomile tea dont use your computer or laptop before sleep no television read a book for a while while drinking a malty drink or camomile and a light snnack like toast or something that sint going to lie in your tummy!!
if all that fails try meditation or alternative herbal therapys
and finally if all else fails go to your gp and get some very very mild sedatives to help you drop off but only to regulate your sleeping pattern there not an answer just a stepping stone :) hope this helped you and i hope your better soon Www@Answer-Health@Com

The best thing to do would be to see a doctor and ask for something to help you sleep!.
Other then that try;
- Relaxing you self before bed!.
- Eating a large meal!. (When your full your body naturally tries to sleep to help digest the food)
- Try to stay awake!. (Not being able to sleep when you want to makes you more tired which will give you a better nights sleep)
Hope this helps, good luck!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

try some breathing exercises!. don't eat a large meal before you go to bed, it's unhealthy and if you eat too much you will feel bloated and it's even harder to sleep!. just have a little snack an hour before you go to bed so your not hungry or full!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
