Question: I hurt my thumb, is it serious!? what do i do to heal it!?
i cut it trying to open a can of corned beef
the jagged part stabbed the top of mt thumb;
its been a few days now and it hasnt sealed
its beginning to ache as if i stunned a vein
pain would also shoot my my arm
the cut doesnt look big; a bandaid could cover it; but it was a lil deep

If it's deep enough it won't just "seal" in a couple days!. It will take awhile for the tissue to heal!. The pain shooting up your arm is probably the result of a damaged nerve!. Your nerves end in your finger tips, so it usually hurts pretty bad!. I would usually say that you need to keep a band aid on it and change it out 3 times a day!. Each time you change it you need to wash your thumb and apply antiseptic to it!. It might be good to wrap it in gauze as well, just to keep some pressure on it!.

Now to be safe you should go see a doctor!. If you haven't had a tetanus shot in the last couple years you should probably get some blood work done!.

FYI, I cut the tip of my thumb and shaved off all the layers of the skin!. It took about 3 weeks to fully heal and I had a dressing on that the whole time!. It was like a throbbing as well as a random searing pain!. not fun!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if it is deep, you should go to the doctor to get it stitched up!. i use neutrogena, and it helps heal my cuts quick and it doesn't leave the scar mark!.I'd suggest you go get stitches!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
