Once the podiatrist has diagnosed plantar fasciitis, you may get a treatment plan that contains some or all of these measures:
A regimen of exercises!.
Taking an NSAID
Wearing shoes with good support and a flexible toe box (sneakers) and arch supports (I used Powersteps supports)!.
Backing off so much walking and especially walking over rough terrain!.
Wearing shoes (as described above) all day - no going without shoes!.
Wearing a brace when sleeping (I didn't do this)!. The brace keeps your foot flexed so the tendon doesn't tighten up at night!.
It took about 6 months for my problem to get better!. I still use the arch supports and do the exercises once in awhile!.
Here are 2 web pages that describes the condition & its treatment!.

Try filling a plastic bottle (not quite to the top) and put it in the freezer!. When it is frozen take off your shoes and roll the bottle under your foot/feet!. (Also try rolling a tennis ball under your foot/feet!.)
Also get a good pair of arch supports (Dr!. Scholls) for your shoes for awhile!. If the condition doesn't improve, make an appointment with a podiatrist!. This is what I did and had the problem resolved!.
Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
