HI there,
Sorry to hear about your wrist situation!. :(
To be honest with you!.!.!.!. Yes, you can play the flute with a sprained wrist!.!.!.!. but it is not advisable!. Anything that is causing you pain, such as a sprain, should not be worsened by holding up the instrument for lengths at a time!.
You want your wrist to get well!? And in a minimal amount of time, so just take a break from it until you experience NO pain when playing!.
Sprains don't last but a week or so!.!.!. Let your wrist heal!. Your band director should understand and give you other work to do during band class!.
Good Luck with it
