If a doctor and a paramedic are in public somewhere, and someone gets hurt, who !
Question: If a doctor and a paramedic are in public somewhere, and someone gets hurt, who responds!?
Is it the paramedic because he's used to stabilizing, or is it the doctor because he has more experience and college!?
Assume that the doctor is not an emergency medical doctor!.
Also, I know they would both help, but who would "run the show"!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Whoever gets there first should run the show initially!. Then who takes over depends on the type of doctor that shows up!. If the patient has chest pain and suddenly losses consciousness suggesting a sudden cardiac event, then if the doctor is a cardiologist he should be in charge!. Essentially it depends on who shows up and what qualifications they have!. However, for the most part it doesn't really matter as long as both parties are adequately trained in current advanced cardiac life support!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
hmm good question, i'd say the paramedic, because if the doctor is not an emergency doctor, as much knowledge he may have of certain matters he may not be used to the pressure of that situation whereas the paramedic will be and can work fast!. the doctor can provide diagnosis and help though, but i'd say the paramedic may be the best choiceWww@Answer-Health@Com
The physician would "run the show", so to speak!.
EMTs take orders from emergency room doctors when they are available!.
If none are available they are capable of handling the situation on their own!.
They would also work together whenever possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Both should respond!. For example, if the public place is equipped with a Defib unit, one would need to monitor that, and the other could commence CPR!. They would both have valuable experience and knowledge!.

First off, there would definately be back-up doctors at the medical station (hospital, ER, A&E, etc!.)
Second off, the doctor would take place because of his experiences, but they would both come!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The doctor would probably be in charge, simply because he most likely has more experience!. But the paramedic could be invaluable given his training!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The paramedics first because they can do triage on a patient faster and better than a doctor then the doctor is obligated to step in and render aid!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
