I've been there and the pain sucks!.!.!. and kills!. If ibuprofen doesn't work for you I would try some other type like tylenol, advil, or aleve!.!. Because some medicine doesn't work the same as it does for others!. Ibuprofen worked for me but i probably took way more then i was supposed to (but don't do that especially ibuprofen!.) Try tylenol!.!. take the recommended dose, then if it doesn't go away in a couple hours try a couple more!.!. I hope you feel better :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just like the times before it will fade away within a week or so!. Though it hurts more in the short term, it is actually a bad idea to baby your mouth by only eating soft foods!. I wouldn't go as far as to suggest eating tough foods, but the pain will fade the more you use them because they will loosen and begin to adjust and move with the tension of the tightened wires!. If you baby them they will actually hurt for a much longer period of time!.

In The Mean Time:
It is common that many pain killers by themselves do not ease the pain completely!. What I have always done, and have always suggested (with good results) is take one Advil and one Tylenol together!. I wish I could tell you why it works (all pain relievers claim to work for all pain), but the combination of the two seems to be the only thing to alleviate pain with braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

take medicine that has naproxen such as aleve!. it works well and lasts all day!. eat soft foods and try to limit jaw/mouth activity as much as possible!. if you are having sensitivity problems maybe try brushing your teeth with sensodyne!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
