Answers:
The reason you apply heat is to make the clot dissolve!. The heat will cause the clot to come apart and as it does the blood that has been stopped behind it will move thereby reducing the swelling!. After an injury you want to stop the swelling that has been caused by trauma!. To do that one applies ice as it reduces the flow to that area!. Heat on an injury may initially feel better but it brings even more swelling to the area making it harder for the body to rid itself of the swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
