Swollen foot - what can I do?!


Question: Swollen foot - what can I do!?
Help! after an insect bite in my leg my foot is now swollen!. (the bite and the pain in my leg are now gone) How do i get it down to its normal size!? put it up (raised) on the sofa, sport!? no sport!? water cold and hot in turn!? help!!! Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cold compress & keep your foot elevated higher than you chest, lie down on the sofa & prop your foot up with pillows!.

to reduce the size of the bite's swelling then take a warm bath or just soak your foot in warm water!. you are doing a good thing by elevating it (you don't need to do it during the bath tho)!. after the bath let it air out a bit and ice for 10-15 minutes!. then you can do whatever you want if it isn't too swollen!. if you find yourself standing for long periods of time, then take a break and elevate your foot whenever you can!. if the swelling persists, ice 10-15 minutes for the next couple of days!. feel better =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

you might be allergic to the said insect!. if start to experience difficulty in breathing, swelling of the tongue, or your throat swelling!. call an ambulance immediately!. but if not, take a benadryl and prop it up, pop some popcorn and watch a movie! lol good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

How long has it been since the bite!? You implied a while if the bite is gone!. If that is the case you should see a doctor because it is not normal for a bite to disappear and to still have swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ice it and stay off it!. keep it elevated and drink cold water to speed up the release of water retention from the swelling!. You should be seeing a Dr!. or callilng the Er!. for instructions!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Soak your foot and leg in some warm water with some Epsom salts which help reduce swelling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get a banana skin and rub it on the sore area, its effective!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
