Question: Has anyone ever had tarsal coalition surgery!?
I have tarsal coalition and im going to be playing varsity soccer next year!. My foot is killing me and my orthotics don't work!. Has any one had surgery correction and is it safe!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi kiddo - my 15 year old son just had the surgery 2 weeks ago!. They did 1 foot for now, the other when he is strong enough to bear weight on recovering foot!. We went for a follow up on day 7: the doctor said he looked good, healing ahead of schedule and changed his bandages/cast!. And on day 14 the doc changed the bandages but did not replace the cast!. This time he was given something that looks like a ski boot!. He is still on crutches but is supposed to gradually give them up!. Due to the layers of bandages strategically wrapped to keep the incision closed and the foot in a certain position, my son cannot really tell what difference it has made yet!. The doctor grabbed his ankle to move it side to side, my son said it felt loose!. He had gotten used to it being stiff!. We are on day 17, my son is not taking too much pain medication and is getting around better and better!. (He has a wheelchair for long trips out - like shopping or something!.)
