Answers:
X-rays do not fly all willy nilly around a room!. They are highly directed beams of radiation, which expose only the area of interest!. We do shield a pregnant woman for a chest x-ray, but this is mainly for her peace of mind, not for radiation safety!.

The following website has questions answered by qualified personnel who are experts in radiation and it's effects!. Here is a similar situation:

"QUESTION: Can a chest x ray pose any danger to the ova of a nonpregnant woman!? I'd appreciate any information you can give me!. Thank you!.
ANSWER: When a chest x ray is taken, only the chest is exposed to the radiation because the radiation beam from the x-ray machine is collimated!. Accordingly the lower abdomen (containing the ovaries and other organs and tissues) are not exposed to any significant radiation!. As a
precaution, some patients request a lead apron to be worn around the lower abdomen!.

Also, a chest x-ray uses a very small dose of radiation to get an image!. I have seen anywhere from 2-10 days living on this planet exposes you to the same amount of radiation which is used for a chest x-ray!.

"The dose to the patient from a common diagnostic x-ray procedure (for example, chest) is approximately equivalent to the extra radiation dose one receives from a typical flight in a jet airliner from cosmic radiation, which is more intense at high altitude!. It further is approximately equivalent to the dose that every person gets in a couple of days from natural background radiation!."

"The chest x-ray is one of the lowest radiation exposure medical examinations performed today!. The effective radiation dose from this procedure is about 0!.1 mSv, which is about the same as the average person receives from background radiation in 10 days!."

I've never had any type of "pelvic shielding" for chest x-rays, & I've had at least 20 done thus far!. For regular chest x-rays it's not a HUGE amount of radiation, and what IS used is focused on the chest area, very little is going anywhere else!. Most likely, you're exposed to more accumulated exposure to radiation through household appliances everyday than what that unshielded portion of your body might have received!. So no worries mate, you can have a house full of rug-rats without worry!. ^_^Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would take Australian Bush Flower Essences combination called Electro as it will help dissipates the radiation from the x-rays!. But traveling by plane exposes one to a lot of radiation and if you do not travel much you should be OK, it is the repeated exposure that make the difference!.

I suggest if you travel to take Travel essence as it will also protect against the radiation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't worry, I recently recieved a CAT scan and got 3 year's worth of radiation!. 4 chest x-rays won't give you cancer or anything, the tech knows what she is doing!. Your cells will continue to create eggs, it's not like you were pregnant when you got the x-ray!. It will be okay!.

If it will make you feel better, here's some x-ray info:
