Answers:
Sprains are not simple injuries and they can be serious!. He should have been keeping his foot at or above heart level most of the day, keeping ice on it the first 3 days or so, wearing a compression stocking or stretchy bandage and staying off his foot!. If he has not been doing these things, he is very likely to have swelling!. If what the doctor put on his foot is hard all the way around, encasing his leg and foot in a hard tube (a cast), the swelling can cause a serious problem and he needs to be seen right away!. If what the doctor applied is flexible and lets the leg swell, then he is not in as much danger!. He should be rechecked by the doctor and he should go to physical therapy to get over it as quickly as possible!. Watch for a glassy look to the skin!. If you see that, he needs attention the same day to keep the swelling from being a bad type and causing real problems!. A physical therapist can do wonders for such a foot!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
