A procedure like that is very simple!. Recovery can be moderately painful, but nothing severe!. Depending on the size of the cyst, the surgeon will make a small incision and carefully cut the cyst out!. It usually takes 5 to 6 sutures!. The healing process is very quick, as long as you take any prescribed medications and regularly apply antibiotic cream to the area!. As for the scar!? It will start out about nickel to quarter size and over about 6 months will shrink down to dime size!. Over time the scar will heal up more and become about one centimeter across!.
This operation should not keep you out of work more than 1 week, 2 weeks tops!.

Well, I hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suspect what you may have is a ganglion cyst!. I had one on my wrist years ago and had to have it removed because it was causing me quite a bit of trouble!. I had to keep my hand elevated using a sling for about a week!. The doc gave me some strengthening exercises to do and it healed up fine!. Once the stitches were out, I had full use of my hand again and I haven't had any problems since!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Once it heals it should be okay!. You'll be glad to get rid of it!. The old method of getting rid of that kind of cyst used to be dropping a heavy book on it to drain the fluid!. That's how they got the name "Bible bump"!. That isn't done anymore since the fluid could get into the bloodstream and infect the whole body!. The area where you had it might look a little weird but it's better than having a nasty painful cyst!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When my sister Gail was about ten, my sister had a cyst on her wrist (I sound like Doctor Seuss, don't I!?) Anyway mom took Sis's wrist cyst to the doctor!. He stuck a needle in it and drained it!. Took two minutes tops!. Gail turned green at the sight of the operation, but she was fine! Didn't even need novocaine or anything!.

I can't say yours will be that simple, but it's just a little capsule of fluid somewhere that has to be drained!. No disassembly, no heart-lung machine, no general anesthetic!. Just take it easy, you'll be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
