The interesting thing is that bee and wasp stings are completely opposite!. Bee stings are acidic, and thus can be neutralised with an alkali, whereas wasps are alkali and can be neutralised with an acid!.

The pain from a bee sting usually lasts for a couple of hours, and swelling and itching lasting around a week!.

However wasps sting repeatedly and quickly, so there is no fair estimate of pain, as both have different methods!. It is thought that wasp stings hurt more!.

The most painful bee sting is the Honey bee, and the most painful wasp sting is apparently the Tarantula hawk, followed by the paper wasp!. According to the Schmidt Sting Pain Index, the Honey bee is rated on a pain factor of 2!.0, described as: "Like a matchhead that flips off and burns on your skin!." The paper wasp is on level 3!.0, and is said to be: "Caustic & burning!. Distinctly bitter aftertaste!. Like spilling a beaker of hydrochloric acid on a paper cut!." And finally, the Tarantula Hawk is on a level of 4!.0: "Blinding, fierce, shockingly electric!. A running hair drier has been dropped into your bubble bath!."

You can view the Schmidt Sting Pain Index here: http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Schmidt_Sti!.!.!.

I have only been bitten by bees, and being allergic, this was already excruciating!.!.!. but after reading those shudder-worthy descriptions of wasp stings, I would have to say that wasps are worse, even if bees are enough to make me cry in pain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The bee might leave it's stinger in, but once removed and medicine applied, it's over!. The wasp can sting and sting and sting and sting, unless you get away from it real quick!. It's sting hurts the worse!. I wouldn't get stung to prove a point, and besides, what if you are allergic to the bee sting!. A lot of people have died very quickly because of their allergy and not having the proper medicines handy to combat it!. Good luck to you sir, whatever you choose to do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Apparently a wasp sting hurts more!. It swells more than a bee sting and is more poisonous!. Also wasps can sting more than once!. Bee's die when they sting someone but a wasp doesn't and can keep on injecting more venom!. Although it might not hurt as much as soon as you get stung, it hurts a lot later!.

It also depends on the person!. Some can have allergic reactions to bee and wasp stings, others can cope fine!.

I wouldn't go get stung by wasp, they really hurt! It's better to ask I think!.

Hope I've helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

bee stings hurt more than wasp stings!. the reason is because when a bee stings you it leaves the stinger in you with is very painful!. that is why they die soon after they sting you!. a wasp sting is just the stinger puncturing the skin!. it doesnt leave its stinger in you!. that is who it can still sting you multiple times afterwards!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can not stand to be stung by bees or anything that stings!. I am allergic!. Last time I got stung I got so sick I was throwing up outside!. now i scared of any kind of flying bees!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A wasp *bite* hurts more!.
Wasps bite; they are carnivorous and go for salty flesh!.
It hurts more because their teeth are penetrating and leaving the skin, whereas bee stings, the stinger stays in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
