When would my mom look at my medical records thus finding out I got plastic surg!
Question: When would my mom look at my medical records thus finding out I got plastic surgery!?
My parents are divorced and I'm planning on getting liposuction done when I'm with my Dad, I'm a minor!. My mom cannot know!. How would she ever find out!? Since she wouldn't know I had the surgery because I'm going to be gone for a very long time but she would notice if a doctor told her that her daughter had plastic surgery!.
When would she ever find out!?
I think the only way is if she actually looked at my medical records
and that's what I'm wondering when parents choose to look at their child's medical record!.
Do they do this for taxes ever!?
I just need a lot of info and help in this area!.
No lectures please , just answers to my question!. Thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

It kind of depends on how old you are!. In most cases, unless it is a matter of life or death your medical records are protected under HIPPA regulations!. No one, not even your parents can look at your records without your permission!. If she were to call the doctors office it would be against the law for anyone to give her that kind of information!. It is totally up to you to tell her!.
However, having a major surgery is something that would stay in your Medical/Surgical history!. If you were to be in the emergency room or seeing a new doctor for some reason and you were unable to give the nurses/doctors your history, it would be a good idea for the people closest to you to know that you had it done, as well as other important medical information!.

First off, most doctors will NOT perform plastic surgery on anyone under 18, a lot of doctors this age is 21!. Your body is still changing!.
Your privacy is protected under a HIPPA law!. Unless you are a minor of course, then your parents must sign for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sorry, but being a minor makes the signature of the custodial parent MANDATORY!.
The minute you apply for surgery, they will notify a parent!.
It would be cheaper & easier to learn to love yourself,
Good luck anyway!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi liz!.!.!. this question is not to lecture you but just to understand your case better and give you an answer!.!.!. are you close to 18!? if your mom is going to get you into an insurance plan the underwriters ( the people who accept or deny the cases) always hire medical companies to call the people who apply and then they go over all the medical history of the family members who are going to be insured (specially the ones under eighteen)!. so if she claims you, she will know everything (from the vaccines you got in your eight grade to every medicine you have been prescribed)!.
unless you are over eighteen your parents still have power to view your medical records!.!.!. google HIPAA regulations!.!.!. you can get more information there!.
at least does your father know!? if you are a minor you need a parent consent for cosmetic invasive procedures!.
