Is my foot alright?!

Question: I recently on my way to the door, upon turning to get the keys left my left foot to twist resulting in quite a loud crack and severe pain for a few seconds.

There seems to be a bright red mark on the corner of my leg yet I haven't allowed myself to walk on that leg yet in case it may cause more trouble.

Is there a chance that I sprained it? What are the signs?

This happened to me once with my knee. I didnt go to the hospital or anything but later i needed physio because i had problems walking after. It could be something worse than a sprain so if i were you i'd go get it checked out my a doctor as soon a you can, especially if its too sore to walk on. Here are what a website says to go to the doctor if you experience(if it is a sprain):
Inability to walk on the ankle
Significant swelling
Symptoms that do not improve quickly or persist beyond a few days
Pain in the foot or above the ankle
Hope this helps, Michelle

a sprang would be swollen and it shouldn't have cracked. but if u r really worried see a pediatrician
