Is my knee okaaay?!

Question: well.
i run track and we had practice yesterday from 9am-11am.
i was fine the entire practice [except the being tired cause i was up at 7:30 on a Saturday morning part], but then i got home, and a few hours later my left knee started to hurt.
it hurts mostly when i walk. so when i went to the mall last night, i was pretty much limping, lol. but anyway
it hurts when i walk cause i'm bending it, i assume. but it doesn't hurt all that much when i'm sitting or lying.
i must sound lame for complaining, but i have practice tomorrow after school, and i don't wanna be in too much pain.

any help or ideas?

Could be lack of stretching, BUT the muscle that you should stretch is called your IT Band (illiotibial band), it runs along the side of your leg, from the hip, and ends at your knee, if it is tense it will put alot of pressure or your knee.

This stretch might be helpful: http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,71...

You could also try using any hard cylindrical device to loosen it up, hard foam rollers are most commmon, but if you dont have one , you could use something like a nalgene bottle, and lay with it on your side and roll back and for on it like this:

While looking for the pictures, i came across exactly what your looking for check out this site

you might have pulled a muscle
thats what it sounds like .. get a hot water bottle and put it on it for a while , maybe an advil or IB profuin tomorrow before practise should help !

There are several fluid caps in the knee used by your body for lubrication. Sometime, playing sports, you can burst one of these fluid capsules, causing pain and swelling. if this is the case it should clear up on it's own but only if you stay off it.
