Screaming in my sleep??!

Question: In the last week, i have been waking up screaming in my sleep at the top of my lungs twice now. The first time I remember fulling waking up only after my husband woke me up and then last night he woke me up but i do not recall anything. Can anyone give me any insight as to what might cause this to happen?? I lost my voice already from the first time from my shrieking and I kind of need it :) thanks!

Hi there,

Usually when we cry out in our sleep, or scream, it's due to a "nightmare" that we are having. For reasons that science still cannot fully explain, dreams are sometimes remembered and sometimes not. Some can appear very real, and others might seem to be like we are in Bizzaro's world.

Usually though, when we have dreams that cause us distress, it is because there is something bothering us - whether it is consciously or subconsciously.

Try thinking about what could be bothering you - are you afraid of something or someone? Are you having financial difficulties or job related difficulties. Perhaps you are worried about something involving your children or husband. See if you can pinpoint the problem.

Also, when you go to sleep at night, try doing something like this -

Ask your husband to stroke your hair or back...a place where you find comfort and relaxation.

Think good thoughts and about something that is positive. Allow yourself to slip off to sleep with good vibes instead of worry.

See if this perhaps will help you get through your night without screams, tossing and turning and waking feeling tired.

Good luck and God Bless

relax, you sound stressed out about something, something is bothering you or on your mind, let it go and it should stop
