I would get yourself to your gp. I started having pain similar to what you are describing when I was about 16. (now 26) It took several doctors a number of years to work out that I had RSI. (Probably due to me having a very old fashioned doctor to start off with)

Any way I was referred to a physo in the end which helped a lot.

Best to get checked in any case. I suspect it is due to bad posture which was part of the cause of my problems.

maybe your rotator cuff?

Simple muscle strain - it doesn't pay to sit for too long in one position. Maybe your hand is stretched out and resting on the mouse for too long. I too get a pain, higher up between my shoulder and my neck, and I'm sure it's because of what I've just said (mind you, I'm 64)

Maybe you should go to your local GP to have it checked out, just to be on the safe side.

I used to get this too its from the bad psoture where you are leaning forward. Try to sit with your back straight your shoulders back and push your chest out, but don't strain yourself into an upright position you can maintain correct posture and still be relaxed, it just takes practice and bit of determination. Websites like www.spine-health.com have loads of stuff about how to sit correctly. Also try getting up regularly and moving around.
