Head problem?!

Question: My brother got punched in the head around his ear about 4 months ago, He has been to the doctors mutiple times and they have said it is ok. They wont give him a cat scan because he is to young. He felt sick for quite a while after it, and still complains that his head is sore. What i am wondering is what could be wrong with him if anything, BUT he also now says hes dumb and cant think so the major problem is how can i explain to him that there is nothing wrong with him and for him to forget it and carried on with life without making it an excuse.

most brain injuries where a person does not have serious cognitive or physical impairment wouldn't show up on MRI, let alone a CT scan, so what the doctors were trying to so is save him from exposure to something that could be dangerous in the future (like xrays, you want to limit scans)

Anyhow - if someone has looked in his ears, then there isn't much you can do....I would suggest that you try to get him to find a hobby that gets his attention, and forces him to look up new information. Just because it helps the brain repair itself.
Other than that, its a function of time.

The major problem is your trying to give him really really stupid advice. If a pain signal is being generated there is a problem and ignoring it will not make it go away.
So try doing something constructive and pass this link on to him http://www.helium.com/tm/148271
