Is this part of the bloody show? Loosing the mucus plug...?!

Question: I've been having pain in my pelvic area... heartburn, and lower back pain... and some cramps here and there... the baby feels sooo low.. and I just went to the bathroom to go pee, and I saw a little bit of blood on the tissue with a little mucus.. is this part of the 'bloody show?'

It sounds like it's part of your bloody show. I had bits of mucus coming out all throughout the week before I went into labor and then the morning I went into hard core labor I had quite a bit of bleeding (not as much as a period, but much more than spotting) which was just more of the bloody show. Throughout my labor I continued to lose more and more of my mucus plug. I kept thinking I'd lost it all as so much had come out, but apparently that sucker was bigger than I realized.

I'd keep your doctor/midwife informed of what is up, and they will let you know if you need to do anything. For me, when I had the bleeding I was in labor, but I wasn't sure so I called my midwife. I'd been having real but not super hard contractions for 2 days.

As for the heartburn and back pain, that just kind of comes with the last few months of pregnancy...unless the back pain is new and comes in waves...along with a tightening of your tummy. That would be a real contraction. The "cramping" could be contractions. My braxton hicks contractions never hurt, but my real contractions started off being a bit painful like period cramps in the front and in the back.

Good luck!

It may a little better idea to ask your doctor. Here is a link to the Mayo Clinic's pregnancy center.

it sounds to me like it is. good luck.

That would be it. And those cramps and backache you speak of is contractions. Many women feel them more in their back than in their abdomen. You need to start timing those "cramps" and head to the hospital as your doctor directed.

this is labor and it is dangerous to not be medically supervised at this point in labor.
