Question: Hi! Is it okay to drink water from the sink? We don't have any special filters or whatever people call it. My dad had to go buy more water, but I was thirsty and I drank some from the sink, but then it donged on me that it might not be healthy.

If it were going to harm you it would have done so by now. Most likely your tap water is fine unles your community has issued a warning about using it. If you're concerned just boil your tap water first and let it cool down before drinking it. Why does you dad buy water, is it because he prefers the taste of bottled water or does he know of a problem with your water supply. Ask him.

If you live near a lake or ocean, or sea, etc, then you should try avoiding drinking from the sink because there can be bacteria going from the body of water you live into your faucets. If you don't live near a type of body of water (ocean, sea, lake, pond) then you should be good.
